Choosing And Using A Sample Of An Historical Middle School Essay

Choosing And Using A Sample Of An Historical Middle School EssayIf you have a historical, middle school essay to write, you will want to consider sampling from several other essays to get ideas that fit the theme of your essay. If you only get one or two different pieces of essay samples, you may not be able to choose what fits best. You can use the samples of essays you receive from a teacher or school counselor as references. In addition, it is easy to get into a pattern where you read the same things over again, especially if you like them. Use the samples as prompts to keep you on your toes.It is possible to make a sample essay based on an article. Although this can be fun, you must have a clearly defined purpose for doing so. If you are not sure, consider an essay sample that is not focused on a particular topic model. One type of sample essay that is enjoyable to write is about yourself. Think about what you enjoy doing that interests you. If you have a hobby, you can use this to focus your writing. Of course, it does not have to be a hobby - you can use your children's pastimes to explore a topic that is personal to you.Your essay could also reflect your interests. For example, if you love to read books, you can choose an essay sample that is about a character who is bookish. In addition, if you have a particular favorite author, you can read an essay sample based on that.If you are going to use the short essay as the main point of your essay, you might consider a short essay sample that is not as detailed. This gives you more room to build upon it in your own style. Furthermore, if youare a bit short on time, you can use a sample that does not take long at all.Another important tip is to think about how you will incorporate your writing into your essay. John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men - 2034 Words

Explore the ways that Steinbeck creates dislike and sympathy for Curley’s wife in Of Mice and Men. In â€Å"Of Mice and Men† Steinbeck presents Curley’s wife as a problematic and commonly misunderstood character whose paradoxical actions cause the reader to alternate between feelings of contempt and pathos for her character. At the beginning of Steinbeck’s novel, she acts in an obliviously disruptive and inappropriate manner, though as tension rises she sees no harm in using the little power she possesses to bully and intimidate some of the men into submission. Once provided with an unfortunate past and her behaviour is explained, it’s inevitable that we become empathetic to her struggles and therefore, sympathize with her character. Curley’s wife is first introduced by Candy and therefore, our opinion is shaped immediately by a male perspective. In this era, misogyny is a major theme and because of this, she is always referred to as ‘Curley’s wife’. This shows that instead of being treated like a person, she is objectified by the men around her and dehumanized to the extent that she is viewed as Curley’s possession. Candy’s insight shapes our perception of her from the first meeting as reader, we view him as quite the gossip. Though gossip is often dramatized, there is almost always an element of truth and as the book goes, we quickly learn that it is rumours and presumptions that cloud the character’s view of her. This instils caution within them and by association us too asShow MoreRelatedJohn Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men1248 Words   |  5 PagesIn Steinbeck s novel Of Mice and Men, He uses imagery many times to create a realistic setting and plot. Chaos On Campus A College Student Life - 935 Words

Chaos on Campus A college student life can be described as ultimately crazy. Why you may ask? Well, to start off with, their reckless and immature. They don’t think straight especially when their under a lot of pressure by friends, teachers, society, and even themselves. If it wasn’t crazy enough for them, imagine if the law allowed students to carry around a gun while going to college, things would go to crazy to a disaster in a matter of minutes. Everyone attending college, such as students, teachers, administers, etc. will be in danger. After all, it doesn’t take much for a person to snap considering they’re under pressure or can be in a drunken state of mind at a party when things go wrong. Some argue, for example, David Burnett, thinks that allowing guns onto campus can put students or faculty and staff in safety because it can give â€Å"potential attackers a pause and give innocent victims a fighting chance† (qtd. in Skorton and Altschuler 629). While, yes, it is quite true, it can also put the students or staff in danger and/or they wouldn’t feel at ease too. According to Students For Concealed Carry, others believe that training isn’t necessary when getting a gun because â€Å"concealed handgun license holders are not charged with protecting the public† (650). Mercutios role in Verona is 1 of the princes kinsman and he is a friend of Romeo and Benvolios Essay Example For Students

Mercutios role in Verona is 1 of the princes kinsman and he is a friend of Romeo and Benvolios Essay His involvement in the play up until this point is limited but he was the 1 along with Benvolio that persuaded Romeo to gatecrash the Capulet ball to show him that there are more women than Rosyline. And he was there to taunt the Capulet nurse when she comes to tell Romeo of the marriage. In the beginning of act 3 scene 1 Mercutio and Benvolio are wondering around the town square of Verona on a very hot day Mercutio decides to take a dip in the local fountain Benvolio tells Mercutio to come in off the streets because the Capulets are wondering around and if they meet they will not scape a brawl The tension in the scene in the Zefferelli version of the film is created in the heat and in the Lurhman film it is created by the music it is very dramatic music and makes you think that something bad is going to happen. Mercutios response to Benvolio trying to tell him to get off the streets and warning him that the Capulets are coming shows us that he is very stubborn and ignorant, when Benvolio says By my heart here come the Capulets when Tybalt and the rest of the Capulets show up, Mercutio replies By my heel I care not. Romeos relationship with Mercutio is like best friends almost like brothers Mercutio is always looking out for Romeo and protecting him. The fight in the Zefferelli version breaks out when Romeo shakes Tybalts hand and Tybalt looks at his hand in disgust and washes it in the fountain where Mercutio is bathing, he then splashes Mercutio with water and Mercutio becomes annoyed and will not stand for it he jumps out of the fountain in a rage and starts the fight, but the most antagonistic person is Tybalt. In the Lurhmann version things arent a lot different, Tybalt arrives and is looking for Romeo, Mercutio wants a fight with Tybalt but Tybalt doesnt want to fight with him he jus wants to kill Romeo, when Romeo arrives Tybalt proceeds to kick his butt and Mercutio is annoyed and goes over to help Romeo out he pulls Tybalt off Romeo and throws him onto sum broken shards of glass, Romeo Mercutio are then talking when Tybalt grabs 1 of the shards of glass and lunges at Romeo but hits Mercutio under Romeos arm, but that would never of happened if Mercutio had just left Tybalt and Romeo alone to fight each other. The language of Mercutio after he has sustained his wound continues to show that he is a comedian and even in death cannot be serious. It Is a bit harsh that Mercutio has bin murdered, but if he didnt try and be funny and play his injury down to be less serious he mite of bin able to get some help and maybe survived. The two different Mercutios are completely different one is the typical Elizabethan bloke with his dress and everything the other is the complete opposite, a 20th century afro Caribbean man with loud shirts and dread locks, not exactly how you would imagine Mercutio after reading the play. Similarities between the two are few and far between but there are some. There attitude, they are both very funny characters and play the comedian of the production, the relationships he has with other characters such as Benvolio, Romeo and the Capulets, the way they antagonize Tybalt in this scene and the way they use language and expressions. This is mostly down to the fact that both films use the same script written by Shakespeare and arent modernized in the speech part. .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7 , .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7 .postImageUrl , .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7 , .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7:hover , .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7:visited , .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7:active { border:0!important; } .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7:active , .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7 .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u505448f3217ca80ffe66a8a261a50ec7:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Frankenstein and Sleepy Hollow EssayThere are also differences though, much like they are similar in their attitude, relationships, antagonism and language they are also different in these aspects at the same time. Like the Lurhmann Mercutio is a lot more aggressive and is stronger than the Zefferelli character and he is also a lot more camp. The Zefferelli character is a lot more funny but he seems to be a skinny weakling and isnt very good at much just messing about. I think the most convincing character for me is the Lurhmann one because it is more modern and is easier to understand and he is a lot harder and I cant see the skinny little Zefferelli attempt being able to stand up for Romeo very well.

Queen Victoria Was Born In 1819 And She Died In 1901. She Was Queen Of

Queen Victoria was born in 1819 and she died in 1901. She was queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (1837-1901) and empress of India (1876-1901). Queen Victoria was born Alexandrina Victoria on May 24, 1819, in Kensington Palace, London. Victoria's mother was Victoria Mary Louisa, daughter of the duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld. Her father was Edward Augustus, duke of Kent and Strathern, the fourth son of George III and youngest brother of George IV and William IV, they were kings of Great Britain. Because William IV had no legal children, his niece Victoria became inheritor apparent to the British crown upon his accession in 1830. On June 20, 1837, with the expiration of William IV. Victoria became queen at the age of 18. Early in her power Victoria developed a serious concern with goings on of state, guided by her first prime minister, William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne. Melbourne was leader of that wing of the Whig Party that later became known as the Liberal Party. He exercised a immovably progressive command on the political thinking of the sovereign. Marriage In 1840 Victoria married her first cousin, Albert, ruler of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, who she had known for about four years. Although this was a wedlock of state, it was a highly extravagant and prosperous one, and Victoria was devoted to her family responsibilities. The first of their nine children was Victoria Adelaide Mary Louise, later queen of Germany. Their first son, Albert Edward, prince of Wales and later monarch of Great Britain as Edward VII, was born in 1841. When the cautious Prince Albert persuaded her that Liberal policy jeopardized the coming of the Crown, the queen began to lose her eagerness for the party. After 1841, when the Melbourne government fell and Sir Robert Peel became prime minister, Victoria was an enthusiastic supporter of the Conservative Party. Also under Albert's influence, she began to interrogation the tradition that restricted the British ruling to an advisory part. In 1850 she challenged the command of Henry John Temple, 3rd Viscount Palmerston, alien secretary in the Whig government that had been in command since 1846. Her post was that the sovereign should at least be consulted on different policy. Palmerston, independent and self-assertive, disregarded the request. Their conflict reached a crucial period in 1851, when the prime minister, Lord John Russell, who was also unhappy with Palmerston's elective methods, removed him from the foreign office. Their altercations with Palmerston, one of the most liked political leaders in the country, caused Victoria and Albert to lose some of the regard of their subjects. Their popularity dwindled even more in 1854, when they tried to avert the Crimean War. After the war had started, however, they gave it their sincere support. In 1856, shortly before the end of the war, the queen established the Victoria Cross, the highest British award for wartime courage. In 1857, Victoria had the title of prince associate granted on Albert. Four years later he died, and she remained in implied grieving for much of the rest of her life. She avoided common appearances, letting the prince of Wales accomplish most of the royal ritualistic duties. Her detailed personal interest in the affairs of state protracted, however. Reign After 1861 Several prime ministers served during the latter part of Victoria's reign, but only the Conservative Party leader Benjamin Disraeli, who held office in 1868 and from 1874 to 1880, gained her confidence. He ingratiated himself with the queen by his skillful personal advance and his gift for compliments. He also allowed her a free hand in the awarding of church, army, and some political appointments. She fully affirmed his policy of strengthening and roaming the British Empire, and in 1876 Disraeli attained for her the title of empress of India. She seldom agreed with the brilliant leader of the Liberal Party, William E. Gladstone, who served as prime minister four times betwixt 1868 and 1894. Victoria unaccepted of the democratic reforms he distinct, such as abolishing the purchase of military commissions and legalizing trade unions, and his powerful intellectualized procedure of argument. She was also solidly opposed to his policy of home law for Ireland. The Conservative pilot Rober t Arthur Talbot Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquess of
